Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed the arrival of Jose Mourinho as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor in the team’s coaching chair. Launching from the team’s official website, Wednesday (11/20/2019), the Portuguese coach was bound by a five-season contract or until the next 2022-2023.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jose Mourinho as Head Coach on a contract that runs until the end of the 2022/2023 season,” Tottenham wrote on the club’s official website.
Jose Mourinho was indeed widely rumored to be Tottenham’s new coach a few hours after Tottenham decided to fire Pochettino.
This was revealed by one of the leading media from Britain, Sky Sports. According to reports from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mou – Mourinho’s familiar greeting – has held talks with the club.
Tottenham’s decision to no longer retain Pochettino is inseparable from the negative results achieved by The Lilywhites – nicknamed Tottenham – at the beginning of this season. Harry Kane and his colleagues haven’t even won the last five games they’ve played.
